Summer is almost over
Been a while. Things to get on top of eh. First thing, this website,..and I imagine the group of websites that the Cous looks after, suffered from a certificate that was seen to be lacking by firefox, and it looks as though..facebook as well. Chrome, however, was quite happy, and displayed my bits and pieces quite normally. Apparantly to do with one crowd buying another, and not following procedures the right way. Oh, and Microsofts Edge browser doesnt like it either. Hafta wonder why Chrome is still ok with it…I did check the website out, and theres nothing untoward on it..well, perhaps a few regrettable posts, but nothing that will hurt anyones computer. Cant vouch for feelings though..oh well, seriously, I try hard not to upset people. Theres ways and means of saying unpalatable things nicely. Who was it that said..the art of diplomacy is to tell people to goto hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip. Hmm, asking Mr Google…irish anonymous, winnie churchill…same quote at least three different wordings, Cassie Stinnet…the list goes on.
Yaaas.
Ignore warning messages at your peril, I say.
However. Back to the real world..hot dry spell came to an end..but apparantly only a short respite. Sadly. At least with the rain, which was allowed to soak in, the pumpkins will like it. As well as all the other bits and pieces that we have growing around the place. Oh, we went from..no more pumpkins in the back lawn, to a one growing out of compost that the Billisaurus shovelled in a while ago, from one garden bed to the other, across a pineapple and down to the ..aforesaid lawn. Thought it was going to take over the garden shed there a for a while, but it saw the error of its ways, and changed direction.
A pension to sort out…grrr..pages and pages of forms to fill in, then more pages of evidence. Thank goodness for young Byron, who has given me a much needed hand with all of this. Thanks, mate.
We now have a new electricity provider..the old one wanted a 12 month contract, and only wanted to give us 7c per KWH for our solar, which, BTW just about equals the amout of KWH that we use.
So, we pay the powers that be for our own power back. A Tesla battery arrangement is looking attractive, although ten grand plus is a tad daunting! If we could take it with us if and when we move, that would be good. Probably wouldnt take much eh. Oh, and the new provider gives us 12.2c/KWH. A tad more for ..our own power back per KWH, but overall, a reduction in cost, and nooo 12 month contract. I did see that our old provider laid off staff locally…which is sad, but hey, you have to move with the times.
Scoop, and you’ll only read it here..Woolies has now got the nod. I had shares in Coles, that was part of me being loyal, but now its cheese and chalk. Coles, locally, had the barest minimum number of staff on…the other day. We had a spillage..they couldnt even get anyone to cordon it off or to mop it up for ages…at Woolies, there were staff everywhere, always a checkout lane free or almost free. Butchers on hand doing their thing, more..this, more that. It looks as though Coles turnover is such, that to compete, they have had to reduce their services. It looks as though…and I didnt say that that is the reason. An opinion…etc etc, caveat caveat caveat! Dont quote me!
Chortle!
My glasses turned up. Its a possibility that the others did too, but were..lets say appropriated before anyone saw them..Only a guess, mind you, but with minimum feedback from the vendor, we’ll never know. Anyway, a grizzle to paypal, and its now hunky dory. Whats with the..get a signature from the customer before handing them over, written plainly on the packet, which is sitting at the front door, only discovered when we get home from where-ever it was? We have been remarkably lucky so far with our packages. and thats why I use paypal..thanks Ron!
Various pikkies are hereby presented for your enjoyment. For those of you that use Chrome, until this certificate mess is sorted, at least.
Cheers
Two happy vegemites, happy redecorating
Basil on table with ant-proof saucer..and lookit the panel behind!
A Something had gotten to two of my passionfruits..The rosemary will be sold to aid the diggers…
