Whats not to like, I hear you ask..with a pwetty pikky of a modernish bathroom?
Especially if the owner”s” are away in Tassy for a few days, its awful cold outside, and theres a flood imminent?
All critters look for higher ground..even our tweety bird kids..like pooh bear, of very little brain. Picture a bedraggled butcher bird, bits of brown here and there to indicate hes still a youngster, about half size, sitting on an outside table, aspiring for a free feed. All his elders are sitting out of the weather somewhere else, warm and dry.
I digress.
We find a cosy spot, in a modernish bathroom. No owners present, tiled floor, nice and clean, but we can sort this out smartly. All sorts of nooks and crannies to hide in, if the worst should happen, and we have an eviction notice served upon us, in the form of anti-ant spray.
Yes, the small black Alexandra Hills ant. Persistant in nature, seemingly able to reproduce at such a rate, that once established, it’ll take an earthquake or flood to shift them. Little sods have colonised the palm trees outside..now thats entrepeneurship at its finest. Way up in the air, relatively safe from ..the eviction notice.
Buggers appear out of nowhere it seems, although the Billisaurus did spray around the windows rather heavily, seemingly to no avail.
He did notice some appearing along the tops of the shower cubicle, however. Movement/vibration sends them to ground, refusing to show their pesky heads, even to wave a feeler around. Stop vibration, and out we come, after a suitable interval.
One end got sprayed, (2) with Most Satisfying results. The pillar remote from the walls, however, presented a bit of a dilemma. Persistant spray stinks, gets right up your nose it does.
At my wits end, and for something to do, I blew into the cracks in the lining.(1)..lo and behold, mr and mrs ant thought they were getting served an eviction notice, and out they came..dozens of them. God, no wonder squashing 4 or 5 had no effect! Squash, blow, squash blow until the supply dried up..then, a dark mass was observed on the far end..myriads of them! All scarpering away from that icky human breath! Must remember this! For posterity, a photo was duly obtained.
Successful days work, methinks.
