Not often you see this in your fridge eh!
Actually is the back of the freezer compartment unscrewed, and put to one side…on account of..the fridge part was warm..not cold. The freezer..wasn’t right, strange looking ice there-in, but it was cold. Hmmm!
A puzzle. Mr google ..showed me a diagram, which showed..all sorts of things, and not a lot made much sense. Not like the old cct diagrams I am totally used to. But, we saw that there was only a few screws here and there. And, Mr google also said..amongst other things, that the fan was suspect.
Anyway, after unscrewing bits and pieces, I managed to get to the Innards. Cooling coil, and one tiny fan to cool the whole fridge. Neat huh. I also discovered that there were air channels which led down to the fridge …these were blocked solid..iced up they were..
So, a decent defrost may have sufficed,..but then I wouldn’t have had all this fun. Now its percolating..everything is cold..it took a while for the temperature to reach a proper coldness. There wasn’t much energy being put to actually cool everything down..according to the specs, 100 odd watt..no wonder it takes forever to cool from room temperature. Once its down there, it tickles along quite nicely, thankyouverymuch.
The darn thing isnt that old eh,..but it should last for a few more years, hopefully. By not that old, its..perhaps 4 years old, maybe three or so. And what sort of guarantee do you get these days?…12 months, basically. Although Mr google talks about a three year warranty on..one of the bits. Aaaand, after being tinkered with, I daresay any warranty would be null and void. Anyway, past its warranty well and truly. So, its ..if not to the pub, its a nice coldie..that this time yesterday, wasnt looking at all well.
Hope the honeybun enjoys the trip south..catching up with a daughter she is.
Bill the Cleaner has finished clean-up week at his preferred school..actually a week straight this time, rather than a couple of days. Not used to it, he isn’t. you get that. Into all lives some rain must fall. Guy in coastguard in Hobart used to say that when we had something to grizzle about.
Must off to the post, send a Something to the brother. Be a day or five eh.
Cheers
