Been a while..forgive me father for I have sinned..that particular phrase was inherited from the son and heir..inherit usually goes down the lineage..in this case, it goes the other way.
Like singing…the son and heir is quite good at it..so I figured..that its probably an inherited trait/ability/gift, and that his mother wasn’t..ah..noted shall we say, in that department, so that leaves me as a possible source. Perhaps grandparents and above, or maybe its One of Those Things..a spontaneous genius can occur with no ..warning?..By the by. Sishongke was where I ended up in the singing department, literally because of the ..sonandheir.. Oh, and I didnt stand out there, but I did have perfect pitch,..due to piano lessons before I was 5. One particular headmaster..yes I know, but we weren’t subject to a nanny state ..principal….in those days..anyhow, he listened to everybody singing, and picked out the five best in the school to sing the national anthem at the school concert..and muggins was One of the Those.

New garden bed, and there’s a story behind it..well, there always is!

So, loml was set on another garden bed..nowhere for the…spontaneous appearance of myriad tomato plants. So, a low set bed was purchased, together with…what I thought..was enough soil etc to fill it. It turns out…surprise surprise, that I had grossly underestimated how much stuff was needed. About to grab some more soil of the same, I thought to check what was In The Bag we had bought. Ah! Hmm! No way, jose, said ho_zay, with funny little spanish marks over the o….uh uh. So, online, I found an acceptable alternative soil. Off I went, complete with working shorts on, ..but..an Unfortunately white shirt. I lobbed at the nursery…ah..only to discover that it Was The Wrong Place, and nooo, they didn’t know where the other nursery was.Hmm! But, they did have the bestest soil for my needs..enriched compost, at $8 a bag. Bag it yourself..but they could deliver it in bulk…extra $14..but would mean Id have to shovel it anyway..plus wash the driveway off, plus plus plus. Yeah..nah. 16 bags (25-30litre bags..)should do it, They said…
So, 8 bags I thought would fit in the boot purchased…but the docket said 20 litre bags….naow, I wanted 400 litres…500 was ok, but…8×20 gives…nowhere near the half of 400 litres. I pointed it out..it says 20 litre bags.,a shrug, well, you know.
So, off down the back, bin 53, with 8 new bags, and a length of sewer pipe..insert into bag, fill with shovel, pull pipe out, top up, tie off with cable ties. Do you think I could figure out how much I was loading? Nuh! So, bags filled..not quite chokkers. Reasonable I would have thought. Get home, grab a 2 litre jug, do a measure. Um! The honeybun didn’t want me to get anymore…what Id gotten was enough..once it was unloaded in the garden bed.
And don’t those tomatoes love our…enriched compost? Some rain certainly helped overnight.

Oh, stop press..we are back to comments getting through the firewall..thanx cousin Ron! No more utter frustration at what the godaddy lot thought was a working firewall..blocked everything, and days spent on the phone waiting for them to Do Something was to no avail. Sods. Luckily, the twelve month renewaL came along! Thanks, but no thanks!
