Case in point..”on the nature of daylight”. One of the tracks on The Blue Notebooks.
Richter composed The Blue Notebooks in the run-up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq. He has described it as “a protest album about Iraq, a meditation on violence –
The track “On the Nature of Daylight” has been used extensively throughout cinema and television, including in Shutter Island (2010), Disconnect (2012), Arrival (2016), and The Last of Us (2023).[8][9][10][11]

Another of his notable tracks was an 8-1/2 hour epic, titled Sleep…based around the neuroscience of sleep. It’s been performed to audiences around the world.
Sleep was conceived by Richter and his partner, the visual artist Yulia Mahr.
She and Max have been together since 1993..according to Wikipedia.
It was performed outdoors in Grand Park, Los Angeles in 2018. The Los Angeles performances had 560 beds and were timed so the final movement, “Dream 0 (till break of day)” would occur at dawn.[20][21][22]
