Basic human/ entity yearning, ..is to do what you want to do. You’d like to do a something, but..you’d get into trouble, on account of..there are laws against that sort of thing.

Laws exist..for a reason. Stop stupid people doing what they want….and to stop klever people doing what they want as well.

traffic rules. If you break them, you have to be aware of why they’re there, and take undue precautions, and accept the consequences…copper in view, you’re likely to get nabbed. An accident may result…and you’d be the guilty party. Ambo in a hurry, one small example, kinda kosher. In my day, trainers weren’t overly reluctant to teach you how to navigate safely..well, as safely as you could. Power under the boot, a good view, and a good reason. Technique, bit of practice. So, some laws aren’t as ..ahem..black and white as they appear.  We start to get into..laws for the common people..and laws for those with a lot of training. Traffic laws, emergency vehicles, kind of accepted.  There are other laws, not so obvious..and there always seem to be a them and us. They get away with it, and we don’t. There is that yearn again, to be able to do what you want. Governments do what they want it seems, on account of they have the power to, and no one is there to stop them. So, if there isn’t a policeman there to stop them, what do we do? Traditional methods apply. Within the confines of the law?  Depends. Safer and slower..Outside the law? Depends again. Not as safe, definitely quicker, but maybe not as ..permanent, on account of them that matters will eventually change it back again to suit themselves. This can happen in either case though. Power is the key.

Yes and no.

 So, you’ve thought about it, and you’ve decided, that you want to change a Particular thing in society..to get what you want….soon as you try and change something, there’ll be people who..don’t want you to change that.whatever it is. They may have fought long and hard themselves to get it accepted, and they like it just how it is, thankyouverymuch.  There are the not so draconian things to change..wearing odd socks…hardly a law hey.  You don’t see too many people who do it. But..if you had large numbers of people doing it, then as sure as eggs is eggs, there’d be someone who’d want to stop it. In any case, hardly a serious change. But..a serious change, one that requires a change in belief system, is a horse of a different colour ( blame Dori Evans..). Change of an accepted viewpoint, in large numbers of people, will take inordinate action, and you’d never win most of them over. Perhaps in the next generation..you do see a change in values from one generation to the next. Bum cracks appeared out of nowhere..

Okay, so in the not so distant past, you had parents deciding who their kids would marry. Not a lot of us agree with this, but sometimes the parents do know who their kids shouldn’t marry..this has gradually subsided, and now to marry for love is ..fairly well.. accepted..The next hurdle..and you knew this was going to happen..is to marry who or whatever you like. Ouch. A bikie. A slob. Your profession..um..marriage itself has been degraded, it doesn’t mean as much now as it used to. Societies values have changed.  Some would say not for the better.  Marry your job..and go home to your partner and kids..so if it doesn’t mean as much now, why all the fuss? It’s about societies values that a small group want to change. They want to be a big group, maybe even the majority..hell, aim for the sky, and have everyone think the same. So. You won’t win everyone over. Perhaps in the next generation. Trouble is, this lot are determined and darn tenacious. Remember when jazz wasn’t accepted? It was ridiculed, spat on, reviled, and jazz people rose up. Nothing like being discriminated against to put lead in your pencil, get your dander up, and get action happening Is there? (Long as you can dance to it, I reckon, it’s fine.)

Yes and no

So, while there weren’t laws against homosexuality, that lot really didn’t care that they were in the minority. They just got on with life. Soon as someone passed a law forbidding it, well, the writing was on the wall. Most of us don’t have a problem with..homosexuality per se. Not in front of the um..nuclear family kids.. is all most people wish, though. It’s only a small extension from..marry the person you love, to marry the person of whatever sex that you love. And from there, only a small extension from kiss and cuddle in public the person you love, to..kiss and cuddle in public the person of whatever sex that you love.  I personally am quite happy for girls to be demonstrative in public, but not overly keen on guys doing the same. Perhaps girls are..happy to see guys kiss and cuddle, but not girls?  Dunno.  Anyway. It offends my sense of values, that’s what it does. They aren’t necessarily the right ones however. People do get used to change.

I was in a spiritual group..everyone hugged. Not everyone kissed though. As it should be I would have thought. Some things are personal..well, on the lips eh! There are air kisses, cheek to cheek kisses…and smooches! 

Yes and no.

So, world wide, a lot of countries allow same sex marriage, so it’s inevitable here in Aussieland I would have thought. Now, in a very public campaign such as the one we ate experiencing, there are polarised opinions being handed out gratuitously every which way. There are the extreme views of both sides..most reasonable people reject both viewpoints, and opt for somewhere in the middle. Sometimes a bit hard to figure out just where extremes end and reasonablenesses start though. The nos..this’ll happen, just look at..England is a popular place to look at If you’re a no person. Some of their counties pass most unusual ordinances..no Enid Blyton….The worlds religions are almost universally are in the no camp..it’s against their religion..Yass. Some clergymen differ, however.

So the opposing camps claim that.. thisll happen, or that’ll happen, yaas, future events..nope, never happen. Oh yes, they say, did happen in..insert country of choice..and it’ll happen here too. So you look at their evidence..and they really don’t want you to do that, bekos you’ll see that a lot of what they say is..conjecture, innuendo, and it Doesn’t Stack Up, not to put too fine a point on it. Different system. Different social values. Different climate. Lots of different things, and it all means..they are comparing apples and oranges.  You and I haven’t the wherewithal to pursue this stuff usually..or maybe we can’t be bothered. Perspective stuff.

Personally, down the track a lot of ..dreadful stuff could happen, and it’s up to..the powers that be to make sure that it doesn’t happen. Word legislation in such a way that none of the Other stuff can be taken to be automatically granted. Checks and balances sort of stuff. This is what the pollies get the big bikkies for eh.
