xmas 2018
Been a while, and lots has happened..needless to say.
I had all good intentions of continuing the saga from last time..past..well perhaps passed tweety birds I have known.
So, here we are in the Hunter region, in the Blues territory. Thats NSW in Australia, for the uininitiated.
Survived the trip down..but hey, any traffic violations might have to wait until we get home..or unless theres a Something thats a bit more urgent..sigh.
Looking after the ..grand fur baby. Young Bentley. See previous pictures of a white..with bits of black here and there..short haired Labrador.
Never mind hes a bit anxious for his Mum and Dad, and just has to have wees at odd hours of the night..on account of Spoilt Puppies dont get left outside at night, do they? Well, they dont. Bentley is no exception. Sigh.
This morning, we fore..er..went? the usual forage in the bushes, chasing the most heavenly of smells, from which the pooch gets dragged back onto the straight and narrow..most of the time, unless the HoneyBun has the leash, and then..we are a bit more lenient! And ventured into Maitland instead, doing the sightsee of sorts.
Croquet, anyone?
Finding interesting ancient buildings as per the guide map, with pictures, and numbers on a map for all and sundry to follow.
We found some commemorative parks, complete with plaques and memorial bits and pieces all over the place. The red ippy..er, ipad with a red cover..came in real handy in getting us home I might add. I do have a GPS close handy..its a tad fiddly! Works fine, though..thanks Helen and John..
Whereby we did a few chores, watered the puppy, and I settled into looking up a reference that Maitland has, or enjoys, some sort of link to “the seven little australians”, Ethel Turner. That proved a tad elusive, needless to say. Sigh! Ruth Cracknell played a part in the play wazzit, and was born near there..theres a website with the same name as the book..that only has a momentary mention of its namesake..these sighs are getting boring eh..was interesting how the girl chose that name, however.
Found an awesome site..well, national library, https://www.nla.gov.au/..and all you need to do is to type in..oh, I dunno, Ethel Turner maybe, and take a looksee at the..20 plus pages on info and pictures and….lots of ands. Huge repositry.
Bit on the warm side here as well.
Cheers.
